On the 25th of March, The Future of Corporate Reporting took place. During this event, experts shared their vision on trends in Corporate Reporting. ‘Creating new Horizons in a changing landscape’
Carlo van Noort, CFO of Royal Boskalis Westminster, was our keynote speaker this year. Carlo shared his vision on the developments in the market due to the effects of climate change, COVID-19 and the energy transition. What does this mean for Boskalis in terms of their future services, their management & control, and the value chain in which they operate?

Signify: from commitments to ESG leader
Maurice Loosschilder, Head of Sustainability Strategy & Reporting at Signify, elaborated on how sustainability is integrated into Signify’s new strategy and how they will double their positive impact on the environment and society through the Brighter Lives, Better World 2025 program. With the UN Sustainable Development Goals as strategic compass, how do they ensure that the entire organization is engaged to reach their sustainability goals? Furthermore, Maurice shared his vision on setting bold commitments on the one hand, and the importance of reasonable assurance and measuring progress on the other hand.

Oracle: The transformation to a 1 day and continuous close
Sarah Murphy, Regional Finance Director at Oracle, shared their journey to ERP Cloud and the vision for a 1day and continuous close, as well as the use of EPM Cloud to streamline its parent and international reporting. Furthermore, she elaborated on the lessons learnt from this transformation and their changing role in Modern Finance.

Workiva: Discussion on automated reporting
Explore how ASML, Signify and Anglo American connect data and automate reporting to better comply with regulators and keep up with internal demands. This session featured insights and examples from An Lommers, Senior Director Business Control at ASML, Dick Overeem, Chief Accountant at Signify and Jana Middleton, Group Finance at Anglo American – a discussion led by Andie Wood from Workiva.

Intire: The latest Technology Trends in non-financial reporting
Wietse Mol, Senior Consultant at Intire, elaborated on the latest trends on how technology can support your (non-financial) reporting process on all the material domains in your organization.

Lumileds: Streamlining sustainability data collection and reporting
Jan van Rompay, Director of Sustainability at Lumileds, will elaborate on their journey when they had to transition to a new sustainability solution to meet future sustainability requirements and targets. Jan van Rompay will share his experiences on how this implementation helped Lumileds to streamline their sustainability collection and reporting using SpheraCloud and will provide an outlook on their sustainability initiatives going forward.

ArchelorMittal: Experiences and benefits of using Workiva for reporting
Melanie Walker, Senior Manager Accounting, and Qasim Abbas, IFRS Specialist, both at ArcelorMittal, elaborated on their external reporting process and the use of Workiva’s Wdesk for their 20-F filing and many other external reports and presentations. Melanie and Qasim shared their experiences of implementing the new collaboration tool and the benefits the platform helped them to achieve.

‘Question fire with IFRS, GRI and SASB’
Irene Heemskerk, Sustainability Fellow at IFRS Foundation, Peter Paul van de Wijs, Chief External Affairs Officer and member of the Executive Team at the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and Nicolai Lundy, Director of Partnerships & Market Outreach at SASB – Sustainability Accounting Standards Board elaborated on their organization’s strategy, their role in working towards a comprehensive corporate reporting system, and the enabling role of technology in next generation reporting practices. They responded to the visitors questions on the matter.
