SAP Cloud ERP

SAP S/4HANA Cloud is the solution we'll look at in a bit more detail.

According to Gartner, the strength of SAP S/4HANA Cloud lies primarily in three aspects:

  1. End-to-end process support
  2. BTP Business Technology Platform for process automation, integration and extension
  3. Implementation methodology: The Digital Discovery Assessment (DDA) makes it easier to configure the right processes, this is a relatively new feature.

What to watch out for with SAP, Gartner said, is that not all functionality is in both the Public and Private editions at this time and that migrating from a heavily customized ERP environment to a fairly standard cloud ERP environment can be a complicated and costly affair. For as much business continuity as possible, the Public Cloud version is recommended.
