Also, by thinking about actions to bring the operation in line with budget or strategy.

There is no “one-size-fits-all,” no universal planning process that can be implemented anywhere, regardless of company size, diversity, the maturity of operational planning processes, organizational structure, culture, management style, and vision. So that’s not what we do.
